Purchased one - tried to install it - 1st problem unit would not detect my router's 5ghz band unless I have different passwords on 2.4 & 5.2nd - This device does not accept special characters for the router password - ?!?! My router password contained special characters - so I had reprogram ALL the devices in my home for the simplified password3rd - After setting it up and connecting to 5G or 2.4 extended channel, then switching to the other one - extender would not connect saying that could not get the ip address, ok now try to switch back to the first one I connected to - same problem. Had to keep resetting this thing. Called support - was told that I am doing everything correctly and perhaps the unit is defective. Sent it back and got another one: the 1st problem disappeared, now I could see 2.4 & 5 router bands. but all other problems remained, connect to 5g then try to connect to 2.4 - same problem. Either I am very unlucky and got 2 defective devices, or this device is useless

Just set it up using the directions and YouTube, immediately the connectivity and signal was improved. The doorbell was just one of many devices on the WIFI that was not responding quickly but the need to answer quickly when the motion detector goes off is the reason for owning the device so now we can actually answer in real time. Perfect just what was needed.

I know just enough to be (dangerous). I love AV and repair and build PC'S and electronics for fun. I figured this out on my own and; BAM!...No buffering now 100+ feet. You have to get it connected then play with optimum placement. We are outside all summer and streaming TV and audio is NOW A PLEASURE!

The print on the instructions are so small that I need at Lighted Magnifying glass to read them. The youtube instructions have no sound. When I e-mailed tech support, the responce was, " We don't speak English very good, so there are words on the screens." I love a challenge so I will keep trying. I have ordered an wifi extender from the company the made my router, but in the mean time I will continue to chip away at a soulution. Have A Happy Day:-)

I have a home built in 1978 (i.e., walls made of real plaster and solid) and even though my router is optimally placed in my office and the home is just a bit above 1800 square feet, the layout means that the WiFi signal to my second bedroom was weak. I followed the instructions provided as well as watched the YouTube video but the range extender didn’t work until I found the proper placement to pick up the signal from my study and cover the second bedroom. I had a few misplacements but kept trying. Now, my echo dot in that room no longer loses the WiFi signal.

Got the wifi extender today as I needed it for my smart garage opener which was in a dead zone. Also will be needing it for my security system I will be installing soon which would have been in a dead zone or almost. Followed the included directions and worked like a charm. Great value for the product as long as it gives me a long operating life. Happy customer here on day one.

Impossible to set up. The website you are told to go to never works. Tried on 3 phones and 2 laptops.
