Worked Really Well for a while
I'm not sure if this cable is defective or it's a poorly made cable yet. It worked great for a while at 4K@40Hz on a R270 Pro screen. However after some time it started flickering and switching cables has resolved it. I only really game at 1980x1080@240Hz for obvious reasons and the cable is still causing flickering at 240Hz setting. Works fine on a ASUS screen G-Synced at 144Hz though. I am giving it the benefit of the doubt since it is VESA compliant that it's just a bad cable. Further testing will be required. R270 Pro is working fine on a CableMatters cable right now. I am going to contact this company and see if they will replace this one so I can see if it's just this cable or their product or maybe a in incompatibility with my display. I will update the review as I know more. The cable feels well made and fits properly.

Successfully extends the cable length for my Valve Index
I purchased this along with 3 other DisplayPort and USB extenders (and a DisplayPort coupler) to try to extend the display for my Valve Index. My tests were NOT exhaustive, but all 4 of the options worked. In addition to reviewing this product, I'm also detailing the other options I tested, including price. For anyone else looking to extend their VR system, I hope this helps. In all cases there was no discernable loss of visual or audio fidelity or dropping of frames. Cable length doesn't introduce lag/latency, so no worries there. But ONLY the active DP connector successfully transmitted the signal to the headset successfully / without snow.THIS PRODUCT:DisplayPort (5m) ($39.96) - [LINKUP] DisplayPort DP8K DP1.4 Cable (VESA Certified). This cable is kinda thick and very well built. It did the job.OTHER PRODUCTS:DisplayPort (10m) ($98.99) - ATZEBE Fiber Displayport Cable 30ft, Fiber Optic Displayport 1.4. This cable diameter is remarkably small, but it performed equally to the 5m LINKUP cable with a wider gauge. The connectors / cable heads produced heat as soon as the cable began transmitting data. This may be by design for thermal management; but if it's not by design this could be problematic. Other than that the cable seems to work perfectly.USB (10m) ($35.99) - Cable Matters Active USB Extension Cable Male to Female. This worked to extend the VR range even without being plugged in. Note that a power adaptor is NOT included, which legit sucks. But thankfully the Index worked fine without the power boost.USB (5m) ($15.99) - CableCreation Active USB Extension Cable (Long 16.4 FT). Works great, as expected.DP connector (0m) ($19.99) - Cable Matters DisplayPort Repeater (DisplayPort Signal Booster, DisplayPort Amplifier). This successfully extended the signal an extra 10m for my Valve Index headset.DP connector (0m) ($11.99) - Cable Matters 2-Pack DisplayPort to DisplayPort Coupler. This DID NOT WORK to extend the length of my Index cable.PRODUCT LINKS:ATZEBE DP cable - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QQQFWGT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1LINKUP DP cable - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DX6MF45/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1Cable Matters DisplayPort repeater - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D949F59/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1(not linking to the passive DP connector since it didn't work)CableCreation USB Extension - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0179MXKU8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Cable Matters USB Extension - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DMFFL2W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cheap cables
100% would not buy again. These cables are made from extremely thin wire and within a month I am already seeing issues on two monitors. Spend a little extra now so you don't have to spend more later. I've had to buy a new cable to replace everyone of these. Would have been cheaper in the long run buying a CableMatters cable first instead.

High Quality Cables
These are amazing cables. Very heavy and thick... made to support up to 8K monitors. What I didn’t realize is that our new 5k monitors came with their own 5k cables, making these unnecessary. (Before ordering, make sure you need them. )Because the quality and capacity of these cables is higher than anything else we have, we kept them anyway to use as we upgrade our equipment.

High image quality
I tried the thicker version of this cable but it was too stiff. This is certainly more flexible. I did a before and after image quality assessment between an LG-supplied cable and this one. It actually showed a small but visible increase in very small detail contrast using a 46 mpixel Nikon jpg image on an LG 4k monitor. It is subtle, but I want all that I can get from my EVGA 2060 GPU.

2550x1440 144hz no issues
I was finally able to get my monitor to recognize 144hz. This was the 3rd cable i tried and it finally worked. All previous cables claimed to have the same features, yet they wouldnt work..

Cannot achieve what it claims
Description is not correct. The max Hz on a 1440p (2k) monitor is 60.From the description I should be able to achieve the monitors maximum of 120Hz.

Falsely advertised-not VESA certified!
I am unsure why other reviewers are writing that this is VESA certified because it isn't. I wish I had checked before purchasing it but if you check on displayport.org 's website you can see this this isn't listed as one of the "Certified" products. It isn't anywhere to be found. If you want a simple cable that works but don't need "VESA" specifically then you can buy this cable otherwise it shouldn't be listed as VESA certified.Reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is- that it can be used for regular display port purposes
