UPDATE: Company replaced, working great. Broke after 7 days, will try a second one
Company replaced item. I have not had any issues since.Original 10/2019It worked pretty well but the snaps felt cheap. After a week of use the clip snapped in half. Not at the gate and spring, but in the C of the hook. Not very durable. So beware! Do leave your pet tied off using one this product, even for just a moment.

Dog almost hit by truck when metal snapped
We are currently training our 6 month old, 45lb dalmatian, and were using this Halti leash. My wife had him in a sitting position as a garbage truck drove by, he jumped up to chase after the truck and the metal clip broke. He was almost hit by the truck. It will be hard to trust another product from this company after this experience. The leash was only two weeks old and showed no signs of wear or distress. Very disappointed in this product, but thankful our Zeke is okay.

Using Halti leashes for 6 years - hands free dog walk, will not use anything else
We started with the halti as a training leash for our beagle. After trying other leashes and being disappointed we quickly went back to using the halti in a hands free mode. Basically wrap around around the waist. In my case usually through a belt loop on the offside to the dog.If the dog roams inconveniently just move clasp to a belt loop on the side you want the dog to walk. Our beagles walk really well this way, rarely pull and hands free dog walking is wonderful. Neighbours and people we meet on dog walks frequently ask about the leash when they see us enjoying hands free mode. And several have adopted the practice themselves. If you have trained your dog to walk well already, give hands free with the halti a go, you won’t regret it.

Cheers to happy walking days ahead!!!
A dog trainer recommended the collar which is usually used with this leash, and also suggested Gentle Leader as an alternate brand. I tried the Gentle Leader collar, as this was in store. It worked well in store, even though it was obvious my dog would resist it. Knowing these collars take some training and persistence I still bought the Gentle Leader collar online, since it was half the price than in store. The clip of the online Gentle Leader was ridiculously difficult to lock and unlock, and I returned it, and decided to look online for the Halti collar. Amazon recommended this leash when I added the collar to cart.As this lead is specifically designed to work in tandem with the Halti collar (it can be used as a traditional leash and multi-dog leash also), I chose to buy it.I am glad I did. The collar is a much better design and fit for my dog, who is in between the medium and large size on the Gentle Leader. She fits comfortably with the Medium Halti, with a little adjustable room to grow. And this leash offers easier change of direction walking control when using the collar. This is not a collar and lead system you can use immediately. Both you and your dog need training and need to get used to the collar and lead. But even with a few tries I can tell this system will completely control the ridiculously strong pulling of my ever-advancing nose-to-the-ground canine adventurer.I could kiss and hug the inventor. Smh. I have been avoiding walking the dog for nearly 8 months thanks to her ripping my shoulder. It is my hope that by the end of summer she will feel comfortable and happy to walk nicely with this collar and it’s leash.

Much thicker and better quality then I thought it would be. A very nice training lead!
**Update**I still love this lead and it is the only lead I use now with my service dog in training. What I would love, though, is a loop to put the lead cross ways on me and have my dog at good heel position. You can put it around your waist but not cross ways as it is a bit tighter on me then it should be and gives my dog a bit more lead then he should have. If there was another loop to clip to that would be amazing. So that is the only thing that I would love. But it is still our only lead and allows for multi-functional ways of leading a dog. We started with a head collar one end on the head collar and other end of his collar on his neck and now we are on the single collar clip. So it sort of grows with your dog as you train. I would still recommend this lead to anyone; training or not.Orginal review:I love this training lead! It's much better quality and thicker then I thought it would be. The handle part (adjust it to be a handle at the end) is a bit bigger then most leads with a handle but thats ok as I can just undo it and it goes out longer for training. I'll probably will look for one longer for other training but this one is very nice!

So helpfully versatile
I am a dog walker and walk a lot (40-60 miles a week). I use these leash for all my clients. It allows for different lengths and even crossbody wearing. A huge thing for me is that the thickness, comfort and sturdiness are all there and they are with this. I don’t end up with red lines or dig in marks from a narrow nylon leash, and I actually feel like I have control

I got this leash for my Service Dog Shilo in 2019. Since then my go to leash is the Halti Training Lead 🤗 And now in 2022 I still use the same leash. It's very durable, soft, yet comfortable on the hand...and since I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, this type of leash is easy to hold since the material lays comfortably on my wrist/hand. And if I'm experiencing too much pain on my hands, I have the option to put it over my shoulders or hips 🙃 I definitely recommend this leash especially for anyone who has fibromyalgia or arthritis/etc! ¯\(◉‿◉)/¯

Perfect leash option for training a reactive pooch
My 20 lb rescue is leash reactive to other dogs. (It used to be everything, but we are down to the dogs using positive training.) This leash allows me to attach to whatever harness she is wearing and to her dog collar. This allows me to give her some loose scope but redirect her if she is triggered. Now that things are improving, I am starting to use it as a conventional leash attached to the harness. If the weather ever cools off, I'll probably use it around my waist, and she can help me with yard chores! I got the small sized red one, which got a dark stain when clipped around a picnic table seat, so I may choose black the next time I buy it.

Faulty clip. Not fit for purpose.
Only had this lead for two weeks but have had to return it. Had been attaching the large clip to the collar and the smaller one to the harness. Once the initial excitement on a walk has calmed down I unclip the harness and just use as a long lead. On two occasions the large clip just came undone! Thankfully each time it happened I still had the harness clip in use too. My dog is a corgi who is just ten months old. Had I had him on it as just a long lead when it came undone, it doesn’t bear thinking about! In my opinion this is dangerous, and perhaps the clip needs changing as I can now see many buyers have returned it for problems with the clip

It's ok but first one snapped
We are on our second one as we do like it for training the dog but...the first one snapped and dog ran into the road! We had been attaching the small hook to his harness ...its not strong enough. Now with the second one we only attach the larger hook. But to get my dog to stop pulling I try to hold a bit further down but it's not easy to grap so I end up with it around my hand which can hurt. I'll admit I'm on edge every walk incase the same thing happens again and it breaks near a road.

Great lead
Great lead which can be adjusted for various lengths and easily attached around something when you need your dog to stay put without having to release the collar end. You can even tie it around your waist if need your hands free. They are not chew proof though.

Love these leads
Have one of these leads already. New pup means another lead. Wouldn’t have anything else.

Great product from Halti
Without doubt the best dog lead we've ever owned. This Halti lead is very well made with strong stitching. Not sure what the fabric is but it feels very comfortable when out on a walk.It can be adjusted to 3 lengths - the shortest being 42" and the longest 70".
