BUYER BEWARE
Product arrived in a heavily retaped box for starters. I put the horse together and opened the battery compartment and it contained 3 corroded batteries leaking acid all over the place. So what this company did was repackaged a defective or unwanted product and resold it as new to me. DO NOT BIY THIS PRODUCT

Frame screws break!
The hardware screws provided with this product are inferior and poorly made. The heads of the screws shear off when tightened onto the frame. After two heads sheared off, I went to Lowe's and bought proper, heavy-duty machine bolts. (size: Metric 6-1.00). For the price of the product, I expected a higher quality---especially with the hardware that will bear the tension and weight of the horse and rider. For literally just a few pennies more, they could have made a quality product. Also, the electronic sound portion of the product didn't work. This wasn't a big deal for me as my grandson is quite capable of making enough noise by himself.

Super disappointing!
This was purchased for my sons 2nd birthday. We bought it a little over a month before his birthday and (of course) didn’t take it out of the box until the night before his bday because we didn’t want him to see it. Well none of the sounds work. We replaced the batteries and still the buttons in the ears don’t work and the clippity clip sounds only worked twice. And we made sure the power box was in the on position. Super disappointing and past the window to return it.

Well……
So we bought a used-like new condition version and when it came the only issue we could see was some slightly scraped paint and rust colored dust in the packaging. Upon further investigation, the cover for the battery pack and attaching screws were just missing as was the carrot. But upon following the instructions to put it together, everything went well until finally attaching the springs and putting batteries in the battery pack. The springs all attached just fine, but the pressure caused two bolts connecting the frame to shear the heads from the screw posts. It looks as though the heads were welded on and that the screws were not actually made in one solid piece causing a weak point in a critical area. As for the batteries, all brand new batteries and not one single feature of sounds worked in either the “try me” position nor the “on” position. Needless to say, it will be returned and hopefully marked defective and thrown out rather than resold as used. The bolts could have been changed out for ones that were better but also the sounds not working and no way to contain the batteries safely in the pack kinda sealed the bad review and the unsatisfied return. Yes, I realize it was used, but the condition was supposed to be “like new” which means everything is supposed to work.

Fun! Big toy and seems durable.
Very cute! Toddler loves it. It is pricey, especially when at full price, for a toy but the sale was reasonable. It was disappointing, considering the price, that the batteries were dead on arrival. Fortunately we had extra but that would have been a spoiler if it wasn't working for child.I'm not sure if it's meant to be slightly uneven when the stand meets the floor, but it doesn't affect overall use and actually can add to the galloping sound when used on a hard floor. I also don't remember if this horse was supposed to make carrot eating sounds or not, but it doesn't. The carrot looks like it would be electronic with screws as if you open to install batteries, but it doesn't open when screws are removed. It's sealed together. My biggest recommendation, besides sending separate new batteries to ensure they're working, would be to add an adjustable strap to slide over younger children for added security. So far no spills but I'm looking at the potential especially for younger less stable kids. I would also recommend adding more songs and sounds. I can see the little bit it makes now getting old pretty fast once child learns them. It's pretty big. This is both a pro and con. Con if you're space is limited but a pro in all other ways. Child less likely to quickly outgrow, more of a lifelike feel, holds a good amount of weight. It's definitely one of the better looking horses in this category and the horse itself appears to be made well. Not cheap or junky looking. Soft coat and has a fairly realistic horse face (for a stuffed animal) with gentle appearance. Some others I considered either looked too fake and cheap or had a more serious racing expression. Overall I would recommend this toy but definitely at a big sale price closer to the $100 -$125 price range.
